Job Summary and Qualifications


The Corporate Manager, Simulation and Technology is responsible for operation of simulation and technology-based education within the Clinical Education Service Line. This position is responsible for organizing and executing operational functions related to simulation and technology across the enterprise working with division teams to ensure logistics of simulation operations, that include but not limited to classroom and simulation space for clinical education programs are planned and secured. Assists in management of simulation and other events based at the simulation centers. This includes supporting a shared programmatic vision in the planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating simulation-based learning across the continuum from standardized patients through high-fidelity simulators. Coordinates and tracks the ordering and distribution of supplies and equipment necessary for training for clinical education programs. This position will work with the Corporate Director of Simulation and Technology, Division Directors of Simulation and Technology, and other clinical education team members to support emerging innovations in the fields of education, healthcare, and technology.

Responsible for providing oversight of simulation centers and equipment; provides consultation and orientation to instructors regarding simulation laboratory procedures, location and use of materials, and the operation of equipment

Finance:


Participates in the annual budget process including input into department revenue and expense forecasts, staffing, supply, and equipment needs. Monitors department budget performance, identifies trends and evaluates variances in relation to established budget. Develops and implements actions to address performance gaps.


Ensures effective labor management, including position control, scheduling excellence, productivity management, and premium pay utilization. Maintains staffing to ensure appropriate patient care.


Manages operating expenses including the utilization of supplies and equipment. Identifies cost reduction opportunities and implements actions to achieve savings


What you will do in this role includes:


  • Provide enterprise oversight and administration for learning technologies used at HCA (including HealthStream, and SharePoint)
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the HLC technical structure and procedures for related projects. Continually maintaining and building strong relationships with business partners and product users.
  • Collaborate with project teams and business partners to meet strategic objectives for educational initiatives that are intended to deliver business value.
  • Collaborate independently with corporate, division, and facility personnel to coordinate the implementation and ongoing support of education initiatives.
  • Interface directly with a wide variety of end-users and technical counterparts in other facility, division and corporate roles.
  • Provide advanced consultation to business owners on system processes and the use of functionality for enterprise training initiatives.
  • Leverage advanced knowledge of product functionality to contribute to requirement definition activities, including initial development and deployment of training initiatives and ongoing activities
  • Partner with learning team colleagues and learning technology vendors to maintain data integrity, manage course content and technology-driven components of the learning environment.
  • Maintain advanced facility hierarchy and import files in the HealthStream Learning Center (HLC) including customizations and translations to improve structure and maximize benefits


What qualifications you will need:


  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Education Required
  • Master's degree Preferred
  • 5 years of experience in an acute care facility Required
  • 2 years of experience in education with simulation experience Required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) in which he or she practices, in accordance with law and regulation Preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Preferred
  • Certification in Healthcare Simulation Preferred
