Job Summary and Qualifications
The Ambulatory Care RN will provide preparation for patients undergoing surgery, endoscopy, and interventional procedures, as well as Phase II and III recovery and outpatient discharge preparation. This role involves assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating treatment plans and achieving the goals of the Ambulatory Care department.
Responsibilities:
- Promptly assess patient upon return from OR and/or diagnostic procedure and document findings.
- Provide safe nursing care and a safe environment for patients and families.
- Transcribe and implement physician orders and document all patient-related information.
- Administer medication and IV fluids accurately and safely within nursing guidelines.
- Update/revise plan of care as needed, based on continued assessment of patient, including providing care for patient discharge to nursing unit, including transport.
- Effectively respond and perform in an emergency, using critical thinking skills to perceive potential problem situations and intervene to offset adverse effects.
Qualifications - External
Requirements:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required.
- ACLS required.
- Minimum of 1-year previous experience of Critical Care or PACU Nursing is strongly preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
