Trident Trust is a global corporate, fiduciary, and fund services provider, spanning 25 countries and over 1,100 staff. Our Trident Trust Sioux Falls, South Dakota office is currently seeking to hire a Trust Operations Assistant. The Trust Operations Assistant will report to the Director(s) of Trust and Fiduciary Service.

 

The Trust Operations Assistant will provide accounting assistance within the trust operations department. The incumbent will assist with the day-to-day administration of various operational and financial activities, including corporate accounting and accounting for activity in self-directed retirement and custody client accounts, reporting, daily and month-end reconcilements, cash management, investment income collection and balancing, electronic funds transfers. In addition, the TOA will also assist with supporting clients and working cross functionally with other teams.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

·      Assist with reviewing and posting trust operations transactions via the trust operations accounting software and the CRM software as necessary.

o   Work closely with Trust Administrative staff for all transaction needs.

o   Assist with facilitating the movement of funds via wire transfers, check processing, and ACH processing.

o   Assist with facilitating fund transfers between various checking and investment accounts as cash needs arise.

o   Assist with the reviewing and organization of Trust assets via the Trust Operations Accounting Software.

o   Assist with the organization of bank account statements (electronic and paper) and review of activity for applicable posting.

·       Provide back-up assistance to Operations staff for the following:

o   Invoicing

o   Payable Processing

o   Day-to-Day transactional posting

o   Trust Operations reconciliation

o   Office Administration

·       Assist with internal and external audit requests

·   Willing to work with a broad range of Trust and Banking professionals to facilitate the exchange of information

·       Provide back-up assistance to the Trust Operations Manager

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, cloud-based software, and willingness to learn new programs.
  • Associate degree in accounting or another related field. 
  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting, trust operations or a related role.
  • 2 years of client interaction or customer service experience.
  • Experience reconciling and balancing transactional activities of a complex nature.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another related field.
  • Experience using trust accounting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills- verbal and written.
  • Flexible and comfortable dealing with variable workload, frequently dealing with several ongoing matters, at the same time.
  • Commitment to quality and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage time and multiple priorities as well as be self-directed within a team setting.
  • Efficiently and effectively work under pressure.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

Office based. Transportation back/forth to local banks and post office may be required. Ability to work-from-home available upon request.

 

Compensation:

An attractive compensation package is available and will be based upon the successful candidate’s relevant experience and overall suitability for the position.
