We are seeking a talented accounting professional to join our growing Orlando area office as a Senior Accountant, Fund Services. This role is responsible for providing basic full-cycle accounting support to the fund accounting line of the business servicing private equity, hedge, real estate, and venture capital funds and investors. The position may be assigned large or more complex accounts and will also work with auditors as required. The senior accountant will report to the manager of fund accounting.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledgers.
- Calculate periodic fund net asset value and performance returns.
- Deliver monthly financial packages to fund managers.
- Perform period-end closes along with completing special reporting specific to each fund.
- Distribute capital statements to each investor.
- Review new investor subscription packets, perform due diligence and run background checks on new investors for compliance with anti-money laundering policies and regulations.
- Provide daily operational support for funds, including banking services, generating wire transfers, bank account transfers and account set up.
- Assist clients with online portal access and questions.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the senior manager of fund accounting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related discipline.
- Firm understanding of GAAP, specifically as it relates to fund accounting.
- 3-5 years of related accounting or comparable accounting experience.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience completing and reviewing complex calculations such as fund NAV calculations, waterfalls/investor allocations, and other various calculations.
- Experience managing clients and third-party service providers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Experience with Advent Geneva, QuickBooks, or Allvue a , and willingness to learn new software as needed.
- Ability to function in high-pressure situations with competing priorities and strict deadlines.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail, self-management, and ability to effectively prioritize workload and tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
