Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who are passionate about creating the next generation of products and services.

What You’ll Do

• Develop advanced M&S methodologies and dynamic testing capabilities in support of multi-service aviation and missile systems.
• Develop new complex dynamic models to evaluate dynamic performance of system hardware and recommend/evaluate modifications. Conduct the necessary dynamic testing and modal analysis to validate models.
• Conduct detailed investigations and research activities and ultimately develop detailed implementation plans in support of the integration of advanced vibration test methodologies.
• Manage and execute major test programs for DoD Services, NASA, and Defense Contractors, to achieving previously unattainable test capabilities and resulting in improved testing efficiency and accuracy through innovative test approaches.
• Address complex engineering issues and provides extensive professional engineering guidance for a wide range of dynamic, structural, and static firing applications across all functional areas of Redstone Test Center.
• Publish and present technical papers on dynamic testing to result in improved understanding and advanced applications within the field.
• Participates as a key SME in the development of national and international test standards related to dynamic test and evaluation of military systems.
• Participates as a key SME in the development/maintenance of Environmental Tests and Safety and Suitability for Service assessments.
• Act as Lead Engineer for multi-million-dollar facility design and construction projects, providing the infrastructure for advanced dynamic test capabilities.
  
  

Requirements And Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• 20 or more years’ experience in the development, execution and evaluation of test technologies
• Finite Element Analysis experience with ANSYS
• CAD experience with SolidWorks and Creo
• Modal Analysis skills with BK Connect/I-deas
• MATLAB
• Data Physics Vibration Control Systems
• US citizenship with an active Secret clearance
