Title: Telecom Mechanic II

Hourly Rate: S26.14/hour.
If eligible, they can also participate in Trigent sponsored benefit plans, the cost of which will be adjusted against the H&W fringe benefit of $4.57/hour.
Job Summary:
As a Telecom Mechanic II, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication systems and equipment. Your role will involve working with various telecommunications technologies, such as telephone systems, data networks, fiber optic cables, and wireless systems. You will perform both scheduled maintenance and respond to service calls to ensure that telecommunication systems are functioning effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair telecommunication systems, including telephone systems, data networks, fiber optic cables, and wireless equipment, while also installing and configuring telecommunication hardware such as switches, routers, modems, and other network devices.
Conduct inspections and tests to identify and resolve telecommunication system issues, such as signal loss, connectivity problems, or equipment malfunctions.
Diagnose faults in telecommunication systems and equipment using specialized tools and equipment.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, adjusting, and replacing components to ensure optimal system performance.
Collaborate with technicians, engineers, vendors, and suppliers for planning, implementing telecommunication system upgrades, expansions, and procuring equipment for installations and repairs.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and installations performed, including documenting equipment specifications, service logs, and test results.
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on telecommunication systems, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
Keep up-to-date with advancements in telecommunication technology and industry standards to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network connectivity and telecommunication system issues, ensuring timely resolution and guiding end-users on equipment and service usage.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure that tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in telecommunications is preferred.
Proven experience working as a Telecom Mechanic or in a similar role.
In-depth knowledge of telecommunication systems, equipment, and technologies, such as telephone systems, data networks, fiber optics, and wireless systems.
Familiarity with telecommunication hardware, including switches, routers, modems, and network devices.
Proficient in using specialized tools and equipment for diagnosing and repairing telecommunication systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve telecommunication system issues.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members, clients, and end-users.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that may involve climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
