Position Overview :
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a dedicated AWS Technical Account Manager (TAM) to provide specialized advisory support for cloud infrastructure, computing, and migration. The AWS TAM will serve as a primary point of contact to proactively monitor the CBP environment, assist with cloud optimization, and provide best practices for AWS adoption and migration.
This role requires the contractor to support CBP's efforts in evaluating and optimizing its AWS cloud infrastructure, creating cloud adoption roadmaps, and ensuring security, governance, and operational best practices are in place.
Key Responsibilities :
- Cloud Adoption Strategy : Work closely with CBP stakeholders to understand their business case for cloud adoption and assist in refining the strategy to develop a comprehensive cloud adoption roadmap.
- Current IT Architecture Review : Analyze CBP's existing IT portfolio and architecture, assessing migration readiness and identifying potential deployment patterns (e.g., rehost, refactor, etc.).
- AWS Architecture Design : Assist CBP in developing future-state AWS architecture models, ensuring alignment with AWS best practices for cloud adoption and migration.
- AWS Platform Recommendations : Recommend AWS platform services that best support CBP use cases, providing technical workshops and guidance on how to use AWS tools and services effectively.
- Cost and Utilization Modeling : Assist in modeling AWS costs and utilization for specific CBP use cases, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Security, Governance, and Operations : Provide expert advice on best practices and tools related to AWS security, disaster recovery (DR) strategies, contingency planning, governance, and ongoing operations.
- Proactive Monitoring & Optimization : Act as the designated point of contact to monitor the CBP AWS environment, recommend optimizations, and ensure the environment runs efficiently.
- Workshops and Training : Conduct technical workshops and provide guidance on AWS services, architectures, and security practices to CBP staff.
