School Groundskeeper

Job Description

This position is responsible for ensuring that all school facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain buildings, locker rooms, and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly, and secure condition.
• Perform routine custodial activities, such as sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and polishing floors, and vacuuming rugs and carpets.
• Clean classrooms, restrooms, showers, locker rooms, shops, cafeteria, offices, and related facilities as assigned.
• Monitor gym events to assure orderly behavior and protect the building from damage.
• Respond to emergency cleanups, such as spills, and maintain records of observed maintenance, repair needs, and safety issues.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Ability to perform heavy physical labor and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions and meet schedules and time lines.
