Join our dynamic team as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and play a critical role in our hospital's pharmacy department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accurate medication records, and providing exceptional patient care.

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in the distribution of medications to patients in the hospital (inpatient and outpatient units, emergency room, and operating room). The distribution of medications, includes but is not limited to, selecting, counting, compounding, packing, labeling, and delivering medications to the units. Employees must be proficient in accessing and viewing the electronic health record and utilizing pharmacy automated systems. Employees will work in multiple areas of the pharmacy to maintain competency and broaden skills for all areas of the hospital.

Minimum qualifications:
* High school diploma or equiavalent (GED).
* Active National Pharm Tech Cert (CPhT) is required
* Approved cert is through Pharm Tech Cert Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Cert by the National Healthcareer Association A
* Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician
* Strong attention to details, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:
* Is trained and assists in non-sterile medication preparation by selecting, counting, compounding, packaging, scanning, labeling, filling, and delivering medications per department guidelines. Selects the appropriate medications and accurately labels. Weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients by using proper calculations, equipment, and technique. Works Automated Dispensing Machine, able to load/refill/unload, outdate, and resolve discrepancies. Stock Orders/Emergency Carts/Boxes: and accurately fills in a timely manner. Accurately and efficiently transports medications from the pharmacy to areas outside of the pharmacy (tubing, cart delivery, IV Run, STAT, etc.).
* Responsible for inventory control through stock rotation, removal of expired medications, reordering/stocking of medications/supplies when stock is low, and packaging/assembling medications for future dispensing. Ensures safe storage of medications.
* Responsible for maintaining an accurate controlled substances (CII-CV) inventory and for reviewing and maintaining controlled substance records. Immediately reports unresolved controlled discrepancies to a supervisor.
Optimizes workflow by efficiently and accurately completing job duties and prioritizing workload. Has a good overall job knowledge and uses good technical and procedural judgment. Assists with other duties as necessary for efficient pharmacy operations. Shows initiative and flexibility in carrying out day to day tasks. Utilizes appropriate and logical problem solving techniques. Indentifies critical issues and communicates to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
Appropriately uses pharmacy technology. Follows department standards of work, policies, and workflows. Maintains the pharmacy automation (changing consumables, cleaning, etc). Identifies, troubleshoots, and reports pharmacy automation issues. Accesses patient information, processes in-basket Rx Messages, and prints labels in the Electronic Health Record.
Responds politely and professionally to pharmacist/nursing/physician/patient or other requests via telephone, in writing, or in person. Appropriately manages, triages, and ensures timely follow-up of all requests. Assists in the training of new employees.
