Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Critical Care Nurse Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for applying the nursing process to provide direct and indirect holistic care to patients and their families.
About the Role
In this role, you will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to meet the patient's needs. You will perform initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family, document ongoing assessment per unit/TriHealth guidelines, and communicate assessment findings to other healthcare providers as appropriate.
You will plan care for patient and family based on assessment, standards of care, and optimal specific outcomes. You will update current plan of care as needed based on patient/family input and healthcare needs.
Responsibilities include providing a safe, therapeutic environment, maintaining patient's autonomy, dignity, and rights, and being sensitive to patient diversity. You will seek resources to help formulate ethical decisions and balance priorities of the patient's needs and those of the unit/facility.
Emergency situations are recognized and taken appropriately. Patient assignment, including documentation, is completed within scheduled timeframe.
You will evaluate the plan of care for patient based on optimal specific patient outcomes and document the patient/family response to care, including teaching.
Care is supervised that was delegated to other healthcare team members.
Requirements
- An Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing
- New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire
- BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)
- Registered Nurse
- Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex healthcare needs at various stages of the life cycle
- Preferred membership in related professional organizations
- A minimum of one year of recent ICU RN experience
- Preferred certification in specialty
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to spend most of their time standing, walking, and using their hands. They will occasionally be required to bend, climb, kneel, lift less than 10 pounds, push, pull, reach, sit, stoop, talk, think/reason, use their hands, see colors, see far vision, see near vision, walk, etc.
