Job Summary
The CT technologist works under the direction of a radiologist and supervision of a manager or supervisor to perform procedures that assist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. This role requires performing high-quality diagnostic images using proper technique with established protocols, demonstrating competencies in identifying pathology, interventional biopsies, 3-D reconstruction, patient positioning, contrast injections, IV access, and new protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using proper technique and established protocols
- Develop and maintain knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, venipuncture, and radiation safety procedures
- Orient new staff members and troubleshoot equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate records and assist in student education
- Work effectively with patients and families to provide patient care
- Collaborate with interdepartmental team members and comply with infection prevention procedures
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Allied Health
- Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- ARRT or NMTCB(CT), Registry in CT required within 2 years of employment, and BLS/CPR certification
