Responsibilities:
- Quality and Patient Safety: Identify key indicators and implement performance improvement measures related to quality, safety, and customer needs and expectations.
- Retention Risk Assessment: Actively solicit staff concerns and potential retention problems. Work to assist in retaining new employees, especially new graduate nurses.
- Staff Recruitment and Selection: Assess departmental staffing needs to determine recruitment priorities. Partner with HR to recruit candidates. Interview and assess candidates to ensure they meet the requirements of the position.
- Customizing Staff Development: Identify staff educational needs and facilitate opportunities for staff development in collaboration with nurse educators.
- Enhancing Unit Communication: Solicit interactive communication from staff to provide opportunities for feedback or suggestions for unit-level initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Certification within specialty area within two years of assuming position
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
- Registered Nurse
- Membership in related professional organization preferred
- 2-3 years experience Progressive Leadership in Nursing in a related field
- 2-3 years experience Clinical in Nursing
