Job Description

TriHealth is seeking a Continuing Medical Education (CME) Coordinator to oversee and enhance educational programs that empower healthcare professionals. In this role, you'll collaborate with leadership, manage program development, ensure accreditation compliance, and foster departmental relationships. The CME Coordinator is entrusted with independently planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating educational activities in collaboration with clinical, research, and administrative experts. Core responsibilities include program development, fiscal management, accreditation oversight, and administrative support for assigned activities. Additionally, this role emphasizes building relationships across departments, providing guidance on CME processes, ensuring compliance, and implementing program improvements.

Position Details:

  • Location: Good Samaritan Hospital
  • Schedule: Full-time, 80 hours bi-weekly | Day shift | No weekends or holidays

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 2-3 years in professional education planning, educational activities coordination, and/or project management
  • Familiarity with accreditation compliance, fiscal management, and educational program design preferred
  • Membership in the OSMA group (or willingness to join)


Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of educational activities by conducting feasibility studies, needs assessments, and compliance analyses, managing financial planning, activity applications, and addressing any deficiencies.
  • Maintain and oversee files and databases to ensure compliance with accreditation and audit standards from regulatory bodies, ensuring the timely submission of accurate reports.
  • Coordinate the evaluation of educational activities, aggregating and analyzing data to support program improvement initiatives, policy updates, and participation in overall CME program evaluation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure residency and medical student programs meet all accreditation and system policy requirements, providing comprehensive program support, orientation, and file management.
  • Manage program administration by preparing for and participating in required meetings, tracking data for various organizational and accreditation needs, and serving as a liaison for effective communication between internal and external parties.
  • Monitor and update policies and procedures to maintain alignment with regulatory and organizational compliance requirements.

W orking Conditions: This position requires a variety of physical, cognitive, and sensory activities, which include the following:

  • Physical Activities: Rare occurrences of climbing, kneeling, pulling, pushing, and stooping. Occasionally involves walking, reaching, and lifting (up to 10 lbs regularly, with rare instances of lifting heavier weights up to 50 lbs). Sitting is consistent, with occasional standing.
  • Cognitive Demands: Requires consistent concentration, reasoning, and engagement in continuous learning. Regular activities include reading, interpersonal communication, and speaking.
  • Sensory Requirements: Frequent need to hear conversations and other sounds. Occasional tasks may involve color vision, as well as near and far visual acuity.
  • Manual Dexterity: Consistent use of hands for various tasks.
