The primary responsibility of this role is to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse in a hospice setting.
Job Overview
This position involves assisting with and/or performing basic activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, assistance with ambulation, etc. Additionally, the successful candidate will serve as a provider of companionship and emotional support, even during times of crisis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing basic patient care tasks under supervision, including bathing, feeding, and assistance with ambulation.
- Furnishing companionship and emotional support to patients during challenging periods.
- Maintaining a safe clinical environment by adhering to regulatory and organizational processes and practices.
Requirements
- Completion of Home Health Aide competency skills checklist as required by Medicare regulations during orientation.
- Bachelor's degree in General Studies or equivalent experience.
- STNA Certification or Completion of Nursing Student Clinical Training is required.
- Clinical and customer service experience.
Working Conditions
This role requires frequent standing, walking, and stooping. The ability to lift 50 lbs is consistently required. Other duties include communicating effectively with the patient's interdisciplinary team, performing basic cleaning duties, and monitoring supply rooms.
