Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial concepts and be proficient in various accounting software, especially Quickbooks Online. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Reconcile Accounts: Regularly reconcile bank statements and company accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare Financial Reports: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Support Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Maintain Financial Records: Organize and maintain financial records, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
- Collaborate with Accountants: Work closely with staff accountants and other financial professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries to accurately reflect financial transactions.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are resolved.
- Maintain the general ledger by performing regular reconciliations and adjustments as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of tax documents and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Utilize financial software to manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices.
- Support governmental accounting practices as needed, adhering to specific regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data for reporting purposes.
- Generate financial reports that provide insights into the company’s performance and assist in decision-making.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles, including GAAP.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial software applications, Quickbooks.
- Experience with journal entries, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and tax preparation is preferred.
- Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with team members across departments.
Education and Experience:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 2-5 years of related experience required
