Trillium Professional has a direct hire opportunity in Sterling Heights, MI for a Quality Manager.
PRIMARY FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leadership and Management:
o Lead and mentor a small quality department consisting of four team members.
o Develop and implement quality processes and practices that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
o Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Quality System Oversight:
o Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality management systems and other relevant industry standards.
o Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality documentation and procedures.
• Product Quality Assurance:
o Monitor and evaluate the quality of manufactured products, including metal machining components, hydraulic and hydropneumatic assemblies, and painted components.
o Ensure that products meet defense-specific requirements such as MIL-SPEC (Military Specifications), environmental testing standards, and other customer-specific performance and reliability criteria.
o Conduct hands-on inspections and audits to ensure products meet defense customer specifications and quality requirements.
• Process Improvement:
o Identify and address quality issues using root cause analysis, corrective action methods, and problem-solving techniques.
o Implement process improvements to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
o Utilize quality tools and methodologies such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and 8D Problem Solving to drive quality improvements.
o Engage in hands-on problem-solving and use of quality tools for real-time issue resolution.
• Data Management and Integration:
o Integrate quality practices and data into a data management system to improve quality tracking, reporting, and decision-making.
o Analyze quality data to identify trends, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
o Ensure data accuracy and maintain comprehensive records of quality performance metrics and improvement activities.
• Customer Interaction:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues with defense customers.
o Address and resolve customer complaints and quality concerns in a timely and effective manner.
• Compliance and Reporting:
o Ensure all quality processes comply with regulatory and customer requirements, including clean room standards for specific assemblies.
o Prepare and present quality reports and metrics to senior management.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
The Quality Manager reports to the Operation Manager
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field is required. Relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager) are a plus.
