We are hiring a Part-Time Accounting Clerk in Oberlin.
This is a first shift position, working 24 hours per week with flexible hours and a starting pay rate of $20.00 per hour.
Job Description
The Accounting Clerk will assist with our Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) functions.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable (A/P):
- Match receivers to invoices and verify costs against purchase orders
- Enter invoices into E2 software and process weekly check runs
- Organize and file A/P documents and maintain the postage machine
- Prepare monthly safety reimbursements and credit card statements
- Accounts Receivable (A/R):
- Bill customer shipments and handle surcharges and pallet charges
- Prepare and send customer statements, including customized intervals for certain clients
- Process daily deposits and maintain cash balance records
- Update A/R spreadsheets and assist with month-end cash balance reporting
- General Administrative Duties:
- Sort and process incoming mail
- Filing for the fiscal year
- Create file folders and assist in organizing archived files
- Handle W-9 requests and respond to credit inquiries as needed
Requirements:
- Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
- Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with accounting software (E2 platform preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related role
- BASIC understanding of accounting principles and procedures, including familiarity with billing, invoicing, and reconciliations
