Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
As an HR Specialist, this role provides vital HR support to our organization, primarily focusing on compliance, employee relations, and administrative tasks. This position is designed as an entry-level role, with the potential to advance to a more comprehensive HR Generalist role. The HR Specialist reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.
- Assist with regular communication with company leaders and local HR / Payroll representatives, providing support on HR-related issues.
- Offer initial guidance on employee relations, performance management, and employment terminations, referring complex cases to senior HR staff.
- Provide assistance in applying Federal and State labor and employment laws, as well as company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance.
- Support the identification of training and development needs and work closely with the HR Manager to facilitate necessary training.
- Help with the administration of reasonable accommodations and the interactive process under the ADA.
- Collect and analyze HR data, including employee satisfaction surveys, exit interviews, and turnover statistics, and provide insights for improvement.
- Participate in investigations of HR-related complaints, ensuring thorough documentation of the process and outcomes.
- Assist with the development and updating of job descriptions, human resources policies, procedures, and related documents / forms.
- Conduct audits on selected HR activities, such as personnel files and HR policies / processes, to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Act as a cultural champion by promoting and embodying the organization's core values.
- Assist with EEO compliance efforts.
- Provide support for biweekly payroll processing for a small group of employees.
- Perform any other responsibilities as assigned.
