Main Office1400 W Greenleaf AveChicago, IL 60626, USAThe Director of Policy and Health Equity and Advocacy will serve as the lead expert in health policy impacting Trilogy’s national, state, and local stakeholders. They will guide organizational leadership on priority policy and legislation that furthers Trilogy’s mission and vision. They are responsible for developing and implementing strategies to protect and improve the health safety net for Trilogy’s client population and advocate for policy that enhances recruitment and retention in the behavioral health workforce.This position emphasizes centering initiatives on the individuals served by Trilogy’s programs whose lives continue to be impacted by systemic inequities. It will also advise senior leadership on resources, tools, implications, strategies, and best practices to inform decision-making through an equity lens, including the strategic planning process, policy development, practice guidelines, and expert solution-oriented subject matter consultation for Trilogy employees as well as individuals served.The predominant criteria for the Director of Policy and Health Equity and Advocacy include a strong visionary and inspirational leader who conveys a long-term vision for Trilogy’s policy and equity approach and is skilled at implementing a detailed plan to achieve that vision. The candidate should have experience developing collaborative initiatives and the personal characteristics needed to promote, foster, and facilitate the trust of colleagues and outside stakeholders.Key Responsibilities Represent Trilogy in outside national, state, and local meetings with elected officials, external partners, stakeholders, and agencies on health equity programs that address identified priority disparities and improve health quality and outcomes.Engage in administrative and legislative advocacy, developing corresponding policy agendas and plans.Develop policy positions and oversee policy briefs and report position recommendations.Coordinate training, support, and resources related to health equity and assist in the dissemination of these materials to individuals, teams, and projects both internally and with community stakeholders.Provide leadership, education, and training to ensure staff understand Trilogy’s vision for health equity, applicable policies, and procedures, and are engaged in developing their health equity skillset and intercultural development with specific attention to racial health disparities, the social determinants of health, and non-discrimination in health programs.Analyze current health policy to identify opportunities for expanding health care and access to people living with disabilities and individuals living in areas with less access to care.Serve as subject matter expert on health policy, equitable strategies, community health & engagement, advocacy, health equity analytics, bias reduction, and diversity equity and inclusion practices.Provide oversight and guidance to the leadership team on policy projects and priorities, including children's mental health, behavioral health, support for individuals with disabilities, immigrant and refugee health, enrollment efforts, and diverse workforce initiatives.Collaborate with staff to refine strategic objectives and messaging on policy priorities and advocacy opportunities, mainly related to underserved communities.Ensure continued education and training for assigned employees to strengthen the services provided.Support the work of new initiatives, grants, and projects.Serve as subject matter expert, training, and conducting focus workgroups on various topics.
