MEP Engineer:Key Responsibilities:
- Design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, lighting, communications, fire protection designs, and arc flash analysis.
- Electrical design and coordination of various industrial and municipal projects with an emphasis on water/wastewater treatment plant related buildings, industrial facilities, building electrical systems, generators, and HVAC.
- Establish design criteria, perform design calculations, develop one-line diagrams, schematics, and plans and specifications
- Review manufacturer information to assure compliance with specifications
- Assist in cost estimating, code review, field investigation, report writing, and other electrical engineering related tasks
- Provide engineering support during construction, including review of equipment submittals, shop drawings, and information requests from contractors
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study
- 3 years of relevant MEP experience
- Knowledge of NESC and NFPA codes
- EIT or the ability to obtain within one (1) year from date of hire
- PE or the ability to obtain within (3) years from date of hire
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience using ETAP, SKM Power, or other power systems analysis software
Distribution Design EngineerKey Responsibilities
- Design consulting services with a focus on new or existing overhead and underground electric utility distribution projects 69kV and below.
- Electrical design and coordination of projects including new feeder, cable replacement, new service request for commercial or residential development, and installation of equipment such as pad mount transformers or switchgear.
- Establish design criteria, develop one-line diagrams, bill of materials, and plans and specifications
- Perform design calculations for cable sizing, voltage drop, cable pulling, and pole loading.
- Assist in cost estimating, code review, field investigation, report writing, and other electrical engineering related tasks
- Provide engineering support during construction, including review of equipment submittals, shop drawings, and information requests from contractors
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of NESC and NFPA codes
- Knowledge of utility and RUS standards
- Knowledge of distribution protective device coordination
- Knowledge of easements, right-of-way, and permitting for distribution projects
- EIT or the ability to obtain within one (1) year from date of hire
- PE or the ability to obtain within (3) years from date of hire
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience using ETAP, SKM Power, or other power systems analysis software
Substation Design EngineerKey Responsibilities
- Design consulting services with a focus on high voltage substations projects, including the physical design and/or protection & control design.
- Electrical design and coordination of projects including new transmission substations, ring bus or breaker-and-a-half bus conversions of existing substations, and equipment replacements such as transformers, breakers, relay panels, and control enclosures.
- Establish design criteria, develop one-line and three-line diagrams, control schematics, communication diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, relay panel arrangements, general arrangements and section details, yard layouts, bill of materials, and other plans and equipment specifications.
- Perform design calculations such as AC load sizing, DC battery sizing, voltage drop, control cable sizing, conduit fill, lightning protection, ground grid analysis, and lighting.
- Assist in cost estimating, field investigation, report writing, and other electrical engineering related tasks
- Provide engineering support during construction, including review of equipment submittals, shop drawings, and information requests from contractors
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of three-phase power systems
- Knowledge of microprocessor relays and protection schemes for transmission lines, distribution feeders, and substation equipment
- Knowledge of substation electrical clearances
- Knowledge of codes and standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, NEMA, and ANSI
- EIT or the ability to obtain within one (1) year from date of hire
- PE or the ability to obtain within (3) years from date of hire
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience using software for lightning protection, ground grid analysis, and lighting design
Transmission Line Design EngineerKey Responsibilities
- Design consulting services with a focus on overhead transmission line projects, above 100kV.
- Design and coordination of projects including new single or double-circuit transmission lines, pole or conductor replacements, and OPGW fiber additions.
- Establish design criteria, ensure NESC compliance, evaluate and select structure and material types, route analysis and selection for new lines, and develop plans and specifications.
- Facilitate acquiring permits for construction activities
- Assist in cost estimating, field investigation, report writing, and other electrical engineering related tasks
- Provide engineering support during construction, including review of equipment submittals, shop drawings, and information requests from contractors
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of codes and standards such as NESC
- EIT or the ability to obtain within one (1) year from date of hire
- PE or the ability to obtain within (3) years from date of hire
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience using PLS-CADD software
