Control Systems Engineer Job Description
The Control Systems Engineer Manager will provide direction and leadership for the design and development of control products.
Control Systems Engineer Responsibilities
- Responsible for the technical sufficiency and design viability of the control and component product lines through the Controls platform team.
- Interprets military and industrial specifications relevant to the control and component product lines and their performance requirements.
- Provides project and technical direction engineering support, an orderly, accurate, and timely workflow for the members of the Controls platform team.
- Works with certification and test systems personnel to ensure all Controls & Components pass the required certifications and tests.
- Implements and maintains an effective testing and certification process to ensure that the company’s products meet specified requirements.
- Leads and directs the necessary testing to achieve and maintain necessary Qualified Products Listings of the company’s products, product certifications, and QPL status.
- Acts as authorized representative and technical liaison for compliance with certification and qualification groups related to product certifications and qualifications.
- Creates engineering policy for the Controls platform team.
- Direct Controls platform team, overseeing salary administration, professional development, and performance appraisals in adherence.
Control Systems Engineer Requirements
- Communicates and coordinates with customers as necessary to attain desired product and performance aspects.
- Provides technical support for quoting, application development, review of customer documents/specifications, and additional matters as assigned.
- Coordinates and directs activities to achieve control designs that meet quality, performance, and delivery requirements.
- Coordinates as necessary to achieve and maintain control of product performance, test certifications, and QPL.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement Task Teams.
- Applies knowledge of controls development and testing, specifications, certifications, and QPL to create improvements within the Controls platform team, in support of the company’s business plan.
- Trains for advanced technical leadership positions.
- Assists in the development of assigned personnel.
- Engages in 6S, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, total preventative maintenance, and the submission of improvement ideas.
- BSEE Degree with an electrical background.
- 10 years of experience supporting military programs preferred.
- Functional knowledge of relevant controls design and specifications is a plus.
- Programming experience is a plus.
