Senior Product Engineer
The Senior Product Engineer will lead the development of new products, overseeing the process from concept through design, validation, and transition to production. As both a technical leader and project manager, this role requires collaboration with suppliers, internal teams, and customer entities throughout the product development phase. The Senior Product Engineer will be responsible for enhancing engineering production capabilities, standardization, cost efficiency, and ensuring safe working conditions. The position will also involve leadership to ensure compliance with regulatory and company safety and environmental standards.
Senior Product Engineer Job Responsibilities :
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer communication to ensure designs meet customer needs and specifications.
- Design innovative products or enhance existing designs to meet customer requirements and market demands.
- Identify and apply best practices for product assembly processes.
- Develop comprehensive specifications and performance requirements for new product designs.
- Source new vendors and suppliers for tooling and components needed for design and production.
- Create and finalize assembly prints, instructions, and bill of materials for prototype production.
- Oversee inspection and assembly processes for products and subassemblies to meet program objectives.
- Review and implement necessary changes to project documentation.
- Organize, file, and maintain all relevant documentation for design and production processes.
- Finalize all specifications, assembly instructions, and bills of materials for product transition.
- Lead mechanical and electrical qualification testing, ensuring that products meet performance and safety standards.
- Collaborate with production teams to integrate new product designs into existing production systems.
- Drive optimization activities during the industrialization phase to enhance mass production capabilities.
- Explore new methods and techniques in product assembly to improve performance, design processes, and production efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor technical staff, including model shop and document control teams.
