Job Description
Provides leadership, consultation, and support for the Staffing Office/Bed Control function and patient service areas. This position provides administrative continuity to staff, patients, families and visitors while acting as a liaison for the administrator on-call and the clinical Management team Essential Job Functions:
1. Accurately assesses the staffing needs of the inpatient nursing departments based on skill mix and acuity. Primary facilitator of patient throughput and administrator for electronic bed flow and patient tracking systems.
2. Assist in communicating staffing and scheduling policies and incentive programs to all staff.
3. Manages all staffing resources to accommodate census fluctuations, including resource staff, floating employees and contract labor.
4. Oversees all contract labor utilization for cost efficiency and competency.
5. Provides on-site leadership, direction and support for operational management and problem resolution. 6. Serves as primary communication liaison between administrator on call, nursing management, patients, families, visitors, and administration.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Experience:
3 years clinical RN experience and 3 years progressive management and/or supervisory experience.
Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field; 1-year management experience as a charge RN, clinical care manager/supervisor, or manager.
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
Must have current RN license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas. Must have Texas RN license within 90 days of hire.
