What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Underwriter position at Trinite Consulting Group?
We are hiring a fulltime Senior Underwriter for our direct client who canwork directly with Brokers (“Clients”) and to collect, review and analyze an applicant to determine the liability / level of risk of insuring, coverage needs and appropriate pricing
- This candidate will be responsible for their own client base (of PGIA’s existing longstanding relationships) and build their own book of business.
- Solicit new business from Brokers, negotiate terms, conditions and pricing to ensure profitability
- Offer management recommendations on whether or not to approve an application
- Keep detailed records / notes of policies underwritten and decisions made
- Review Binders, endorsements, inspections, and follow up with Brokers to obtain documentation and outstanding items when assistants are unable to obtain
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of all PGIA carrier coverage forms and endorsements
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of PGIA carrier guidelines
- Work within a team-oriented environment to collaborate on risk and strategy
- Assist management in developing and maintaining a profitable book of business
- Confidently make educated decisions on behalf of PGIA and our carriers

Technical Skills:
· 5 years of prior experience underwriting Commercial General Liability and / or Excess Liability
· Comprehensive understanding of insurance policies and ability to relate policy provisions to loss exposure
· College Degree Not Required (Highly Preferred)
· Ability to be in the Shelton, CT office 1-2x a week (Highly Preferred)
· Institute designations not required, but advantageous and preferred.
Salary : $98,800 - $116,900
