Salary: $86,000 commensurate with experience for the 25-26 school year.
Job Function:
The Principal is responsible for implementing and ensuring compliance with the district’s vision for the organization, administration, instruction, and discipline of the school. The Principal supervises the Vice Principal in his/her overall implementation of campus level operations, facilities management, and student discipline.
Duties:
The Principal, with commensurate authority, is responsible for the fulfillment of the duties set forth below. He/she
may delegate appropriate portions of their responsibilities together with appropriate authority for their fulfillment;
however, the Principal may not delegate or relinquish overall responsibility or any portion of his/her accountability.
Campus:
- Reports to the CAO regarding the needs of the school with respect to personnel, equipment, supplies and curriculum.
- Implements and ensures compliance with the policies and directives of the Board, Superintendent, and CAO.
- Oversees, supervises, and certifies the preparation, accuracy, and maintenance of a wide variety of records and reports.
- Oversees the orientation of all new faculty members, ensuring that these new members thoroughly review district policies and procedures, including the Student Code of Conduct, faculty handbook, and relevant campus details.
- Directs the activities of all members of the staff in accordance with the district’s organizational chart.
- Responsible for managing school budgets and all money collected in the operation of the school and the keeping of accurate records of these funds.
- Promotes good public relations with community, family, and staff at all times in the school and
- Observes employee performance, records observations, and communicates observation information to staff and the CAO.
- Motivates faculty personnel, fosters team-building and collegiality among faculty members, and encourages professional development.
- Demonstrates professional, ethical, and responsible behavior.
- Proactively promotes and monitors parent communication and involvement.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, evaluates, develops, retains, and when necessary, dismisses staff.
- Oversees students’ academic and behavioral program, including disciplinary decisions, scheduling and class decisions, educational program, and assessment and accountability.
- Performs any and all other duties as assigned by the Chief Academic Officer.
Curriculum and Instruction:
- Supervises the implementation of district curriculum and standards at the campus level.
- Conducts regular classroom walk throughs and communicates feedback to the CAO or his/her designee.
- Monitors and assumes responsibility for staff adherence to district philosophies and directives regarding instructional best practices.
- Coordinates all extracurricular activities to ensure compliance with district policies.
- Collaborates with appropriate central administration resources to ensure students are achieving at their highest potential.
- Monitors and assumes responsibility for faculty implementation of district expectations for effective classroom instruction and student discipline practices.
- Holds teachers accountable for meeting high standards for student academic and behavioral performance.
- Builds an effective, efficient, action-oriented, and highly accountable data analysis and action planning process that ensures individual student and whole-class deficiencies are overcome based on appropriate student data.
- In collaboration with the CAO and IC’s, creates effective professional development to support the ongoing growth and development of all teachers.
Classroom Management:
- Monitors and assumes responsibility for faculty implementation of district expectations for effective classroom management and student discipline practices.
- Supervises student suspensions and expulsions.
- Actively participates in educating students in the development of appropriate social and behavioral skills.
- Fosters consistency in academic and behavioral expectations in and out of class

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- Principal certification preferred.
