What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Support Staff position at Trinity Care Homes & Transit Services LLC?
The Care Home Attendant is responsible for supporting clients in a positive and respectful manner while providing supervision and encouragement of independent ADLs (activities of daily living).
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
-Assist residents with basic needs such as medication assistance, meal planning, preparation and serving meals/snacks, laundry services, and housekeeping
-Provide residents with companionship and friendly, positive interactions
Remind and monitor residents daily for completion of dressing, grooming, and bathing tasks
-Monitor resident interactions with attendant, each other, and visitors
-Report any resident’s abnormal/unwanted behaviors, needs, and incidents to immediate supervisor
-Complete daily/weekly Tasks Sheets assigned
-Help residents with administrative tasks, such as making Xerox copies, writing letters, making phone calls, etc.
-Socializing and life enrichment activities
-Performing other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
-Excellent listener and an empathetic companion
-Prior experience as a caregiver and elderly care
-Ability to communicate Effectively & work Independently
-Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization
-Ability to complete assigned task sheets and resident-related documentation
-Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public
-Access to reliable transportation
-Ability to pass a background check and drug test. Provide Negative Covid-19 result.
-High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
-Have a current and valid Driver’s License unencumbered (F-endorsement may become necessary if attendant is needed to perform resident transportation for outings and events)
-Ability to safely drive company vehicle when required
-Other duties as assigned
