Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Technician to join our team at Heart of Trinity. As a Substance Abuse Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals battling substance use disorders. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including counselors and medical professionals, to ensure clients receive the care and assistance they need to succeed in their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Care & Support
o Assist in the intake and assessment process for new clients entering the program.
o Support clients in adhering to individualized treatment plans, therapeutic activities and goals.
o Monitor client well-being throughout the day and provide ongoing emotional, physical and behavioral support.
o Offer crisis intervention and de-escalation when needed to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
o Support clients in developing life skills and promoting positive social interactions.
Therapeutic Support
o Help implement treatment strategies and track client progress.
o Document client interactions, progress and any incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
Monitoring & Safety
o Ensure compliance with treatment protocols, including drug testing and medication management.
o Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and structured environment.
o Observe clients’ behaviors and report any concerns to the clinical team.
Team Collaboration & Communication
o Work closely with clinical and medical teams to ensure effective care coordination.
o Communicate client progress, challenges and updates to leadership and staff members.
o Collaborate with the team to create a holistic treatment plan for each client.
Training & Professional Development
o Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with best practices in substance abuse treatment.
o Adhere to facility policies and maintain client confidentiality.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification in substance abuse counseling or a related field preferred
- Previous experience in a residential substance abuse treatment facility or similar healthcare setting preferred.
- Med Tech certification a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Understanding of addiction recovery principles and challenges.
- Compassionate, patient, and non-judgmental approach to care.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
