Trinity Rail is hiring a Coatings Lead at our Jonesboro plant.

The Coatings Lead position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who does not stray away from a challenge. As a leading member of the coating’s family at Trinity, you will lead employees to prepare, coat, and finish metal and/or other surfaces. You will train and operate conventional and airless spray equipment to apply industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces. You will ensure proper mixes and applies alkyds, epoxies, gel coats, urethane, zinc epoxies and waterborne paint systems according to a prescribed formula. You will confirm adjustments on nozzles of spray guns to obtain the proper dispersion of the spray and monitors the flow and viscosity of the paint for solution. You will ensure proper use of mill gauge and monitors pressure amount. You will work with the team to clean paint lines, paint guns, and perform other cleaning preventative maintenance to ensure that painting apparatus remains in working order. You will monitor and regulate the temperature and air circulation in drying ovens as well as perform duties of Prep Worker. You will initiate and maintain all applicable paperwork as required. Follows all safety rules and practices and perform all other duties as assigned.
The Coatings Lead will need to be able to do the following:
- Prepare painting area
- Prepare/mix paint
- Apply primer, exterior coat and interior coatings
- Comprehensive knowledge of all interior coatings and applications
- Advanced at spray and hand-held application of interior coatings
- Extensive knowledge of sealing/baking final interior coatings
- Repairs Spray equipment
- Train lower levels
- Leads team by assigning tasks
- Assists in completion of all tasks to meet deadlines
- Maintains and Improves Quality
Experience
- 4-6 years experience with hand-held spraying
