- Has a passion for their areas of specialty, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with students and parents
- Welcomes the opportunity to disciple and mentor students, helping develop godly character in their lives
We are looking for a dedicated coach and Christ follower to be a Middle School Baseball Coach for the 2024-2025 school year. This position will start February 2025 and run through April 2025. TCAs Athletic Department utilizes sports and competition to teach transformational, life-giving biblical truths to each student-athlete. As a coach you will not only help student athletes improve their baseball skills, you will remind them of the importance of academics, instill a Christian work ethic (Col. 3:23) and help strengthen their faith in Christ.
General Responsibilities
- Attend baseball practices during the season
- Plan and organize practices
- Plan warm-up, conditioning, baseball drills for practice
- Attend pep rally when Middle School Baseball team is recognized
- Help document and plan weekly Biblical character lessons with Team Chaplain (Mark 12:30)
- Attend all Middle School Baseball games
- Assist with ordering for all Baseball uniforms
- Share responsibility for Middle School Baseball tryouts
- Manage miscellaneous items
- Organize and run parent meetings
- Communicate with parents on a weekly basis (scheduling, updates etc.)
- Ability to motivate and improve performance of athletes
Experience and Qualifications
- A strong commitment to the positive development of the baseball program at TCA
- Experience coaching select baseball preferred
- Experience giving lessons in throwing, pitching, hitting and/or other baseball skills
- Ability to instill teamwork and community within a group of athletes pointing them to Christ
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of the sport of Baseball
- Ability to build a good rapport with student and parents
- Agree with and support TCA's Doctrinal, Biblical and Mission statements and Christian values
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, jump and run
- Normal physical demands of coaching
- Night hours required
