We are looking for a dedicated coach and Christ follower to join TCA as a Varsity Softball Head Coach. This position starts on September 8, 2025. TCA’s Athletic Department utilizes sports and competition to teach transformational, life-giving biblical truths to each student-athlete. As a head coach you will not only help student athletes improve their softball skills, you will remind them of the importance of academics, instill a Christian work ethic (Col. 3:23) and help strengthen their faith in Christ.
General Responsibilities for Varsity Softball Head Coach
- Oversee all aspects of the Softball Program at TCA (Lower School through Upper School)
- Plan and facilitate practices at the varsity level and lead coordination of practices at sub-varsity levels
- Work in partnership with Athletics Administration to promote the spiritual growth and development of all students
- Oversee all administrative responsibilities associated with team organization, participation, and management (scheduling, travel, uniforms, service projects, practices, tournaments, games)
- Communicate routinely and effectively with parents via various technology platforms
- Motivate students and improve athletic performance
- Ability to advance the softball program and achieve success using our mission as the framework for the program’s foundation
- Work with the TCA strength and conditioning coach to develop and oversee workouts
Education, Experience and Qualifications
- A strong commitment to the positive development of the softball program at TCA
- Division 1 experience playing and/or coaching softball preferred
- A minimum of 2-4 years coaching softball at the high school level or higher a plus
- Ability to instill teamwork and community within a group of athletes pointing them to Christ
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build a good rapport with student and parents
- Demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude that reflects Christian principles when interacting with co-workers, students and student athletes
- Agree and support TCA's Christian values and Biblical Statements and Policies
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements
- Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity
- Normal physical demands of teaching physical education and coaching
- Night and weekend hours required
- Ability to demonstrate the relevant skills and techniques to students
- Ability to stand, squat, sit, jump, reach, kneel and move equipment up to 30 lbs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Ability to effectively manage students
- Analytical thinker and planner
