Trinity Christian College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Accounting, beginning August 2025.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in accounting or business, CPA certification, and professional experience in accounting is required. Previous teaching experience at the college level is desired. A D.B.A. or Ph.D. is preferred. ABD candidates close to receiving their degree may also apply.
Trinity seeks faculty candidates who are professing Christians and are committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Successful candidates will possess the ability to articulate the relationship between their academic discipline, the vocational preparation of their students, and a vision for human flourishing that emerges from the Christian faith. Successful candidates are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside of the classroom through advising, social interaction, and informal academic and cultural settings, as well as with professionals who can complement the Trinity experience. Trinity particularly welcomes applications from candidates who have professional or personal narratives that reflect diverse perspectives, as well as those who have engagement with issues relevant for preparing students to work and live with intercultural competence and compassion.
Responsibilities:
This is a 9-month tenure-track faculty role. Primary responsibilities include teaching Principles of Accounting and Intermediate Accounting, as well as tax accounting and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. Additional duties include ensuring the program is CPA exam compliant, assistance with student career development, internship supervision, academic advising, and contribution to the development of the department and the college. Trinity also seeks an applicant who can join the Business Department in developing robust networks in the Chicagoland area, opening doors to students and advancing the mission of the Department and the college.
All faculty participate at Trinity in faculty governance and are expected to pursue a healthy scholarly and research agenda. In their first year, new faculty participate in a year-long formation program that begins with a three-day institute in August.
About the Department:
Trinity is an ACBSP accredited business program with a track record of graduating successful accountants who are CPA exam ready. Trinity graduates have distinguished themselves with high CPA pass rates and scores as compared to other Illinois colleges and universities. Trinity’s accounting interns and graduates have found success in a variety of firms throughout the Chicago area and beyond.
The Business Department houses six Bachelor of Science degrees in the areas of Accountancy, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource Management, Management, and Marketing. In the next academic year, a Business Analytics major will also be launched. It also offers Business and Business Education, Bachelor of Arts degrees whereby students complete a minor in another academic area within the college. The department prides itself on having full-time faculty that have a range of experiences outside academia with established businesses, years of experience in the business world, and maintain board placements. Our faculty brings these experiences to our students to offer a real-world experiential learning environment. We also require that our students complete a managed internship or co-op learning as part of our curriculum.

Salary Range:
For Assistant Professor, the range is $50,500 to $66,500, based on degree, experience, and qualifications. A higher rank will also mean additional compensation.
Timeline:
The committee will begin reviewing applications April 1, 2025 and continue until the position is filled. The desirable start date is August 15, 2025, with new faculty orientation preceding that date.
