What are the responsibilities and job description for the HS English Teacher position at Trinity Christian School?
We are seeking an experienced Upper School English Teacher to join our Christian school. In this role, you will be responsible for creating lesson plans and delivering instruction to students in grades 9-12 for Upper School Science classes including but not limited to 9th-12th grade Honors English including British and American Literature as well as 12th grade AP English. Additionally, candidates must have a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to living out and teach Christian values to our students. The successful candidate will create a loving, learning environment that fosters both spiritual and academic growth and encourages students to develop their Christian and science skills. The successful candidate must maintain a commitment to discipleship and mentoring students in their faith journey. This role must also be able to assess student progress and provide guidance to ensure success in the classroom.
Responsibilities
As a English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic journey of students, inspiring curiosity, and promoting a love for learning.
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons in 9th through 12th grade English classes including American, British and AP English.
- Utilize instructional design techniques to create dynamic learning experiences.
- Assess student understanding through various methods, including standardized testing and formative assessments.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and share best practices.
- Provide timely feedback to students on their academic progress and areas for improvement.
- Incorporate learning technology effectively into lesson plans to enhance student engagement.

Qualifications
- Christian
- Proficiency in subject matter.
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Strong communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues effectively
- Passion for scientific inquiry and a commitment to staying updated on advancements in the field
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
- Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
Time Commitment
While we will give preference to qualified candidates available to teach full-time we also encourage potential applicants who are available for part time to submit an application as we desire to hire the most qualified candidate. Skills
- Proficiency in HS English 09, 10 as well as British and American literature including knowledge and capability and qualifications to teach AP English.
