What are the responsibilities and job description for the HS Science Teacher position at Trinity Christian School?
We are seeking an experienced Upper School Science Teacher to join our Christian school. In this role, you will be responsible for creating lesson plans and delivering instruction to students in grades 9-12 for Upper School Science classes including but not limited to Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Advanced Biology, and Physical Science. Additionally, candidates must have a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to living out and teach Christian values to our students. The successful candidate will create a loving, learning environment that fosters both spiritual and academic growth and encourages students to develop their Christian and science skills. The successful candidate must maintain a commitment to discipleship and mentoring students in their faith journey. This role must also be able to assess student progress and provide guidance to ensure success in the classroom.
Science Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute lesson plans for Science classes
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
- Prepare students for assessments
- Utilize technology to supplement instruction and engage students
- Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure student success
- Manage student behavior in the classroom
- Provide extra help to students who need additional assistance
- Participate in professional development activities
Science Teacher Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; Preferably in Science or related Education (preferred...not required)
- Proven experience as a Science teacher or related field is desired
- Excellent knowledge of Science curriculum and teaching methods
- Able to engage and motivate students
- Outstanding communication and classroom management skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Proficient in using technology to support instruction. Including, but not limited to experience with or ability to learn and effectively use the school’s Information Management System to configure gradebook settings, enter and grade assignments, input lesson plans, take attendance, and communicate with parents.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
