Responsibilities:
In relation to worship services:
- Ensure printed and electronic bulletins are created for worship services.
- Work with staff and volunteers to ensure slides, videos, and other required media for services are created and in place for use during the service.
- Edit printed and electronic materials to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Ensure promotional materials for Trinity’s upcoming opportunities are created and available for distribution in collaboration with other staff and volunteers.
- Collaborate with the Tech Team to ensure the worship livestream is set up and directed to all online locations.
- Ensure online worshipers have access to bulletins, check-in cards, etc.
In relation to Trinity’s online presence:
- Ensure Trinity has a website with easy-to-access information.
- Work with the pastor, staff, and ministry leaders to ensure website information is timely and accurate.
- Develop, document, and execute a Social Media strategy for Trinity Church. (This strategy must be reviewed and approved by the pastor. Communicate strategy with staff and key volunteers.)
- Maintain online forms, ensuring needed forms are accessible.
- Continue learning about effective strategies for online communication and ministry, helping staff and volunteers implement these strategies.
In relation to general communications:
- Coordinate weekly and occasional church-wide email communications.
- Ensure the digital sign is up-to-date.
- Ensure bulletin boards, printed materials, and screens have accurate and up-to-date information.
- Work with the Office and Financial Administrator to maintain Trinity’s church calendar and publish upcoming events on the website, weekly email communications, and other applicable mediums.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies (with staff and volunteers) within the community.
- Gather pictures and videos from activities and use in communications.
- Help create videos for use in promotional and/or ministry settings.
- Proofread and edit all communications (within reason) to ensure consistency in messaging and branding for Trinity Church.
- Work with other staff and volunteers to teach and accomplish the above responsibilities. The expectation is not for the Director of Communications to do all of this work alone, but to help the congregation develop systems of communication that will advance God’s ministry at Trinity Church.
- Be trained and certified in Trinity’s Safer Sanctuary guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.
