Summary
Trinity Classical Academy seeks candidates for a part-time educational therapist position. Candidates that are not already licensed in NILD Educations Therapy must be willing to complete professional training once hired. Qualified candidates will be models in their lives and abilities of what they teach. They will demonstrate a commitment to improving their craft as an educational therapist.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree (Education Major preferred)
- Previous teaching experience and work with learning challenged students is preferred
- NILD Level 1 Certification, or equivalent
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Excellent oral and written command of the English language
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, and students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
- Competence in educational technology (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Assistive Technology specific to supporting students with language-based learning disabilities)
- Excellent organizational skills including strong time management, data collection, report writing, calendar management
- Ability to work with students 1:1 and in small groups
- Ability to collaborate with and train faculty 1:1, or in small to large groups

Working Conditions
- Working Environment: indoors in a comfortable temperature-controlled classroom environment and is typically free from dust and hazardous materials
- Generally works in a 1:1 or small group environment; noise level is typically low with the exception of times between class periods
- Requires standing or sitting for long periods of time; will include frequent walking and sitting
- Able to make visual and auditory evaluation of students work and performance
- Physical Demands: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, repetitious hand and body movements, simple grasping, fine and gross motor skills. Stand and walk when administering care. Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, push, pull and lift up to 20 pounds. Must be able to climb one flight of stairs
- Mental Demands: Ability to work well under pressure; ability to maintain a level of professionalism and calm when others may not
- Use of computer/monitor screen; projector and other classroom equipment
- Travel: Travel may be required for training
Work Schedule
School Calendar: Schedule to be determined, generally between 7:20 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Schedule may grow and change throughout the school year. Training days and parent teacher conferences may be additional and/or longer workdays. Summer hours as communicated by your supervisor.
Salary : $25,000 - $35,000
