Job Family Group : StaffDepartment / Office : Director of Integrated Counseling, Health and Wellness Services (Marcy Youngdahl)Time Type : Full timeCompensation : Please note, starting salaries are based on factors including internal equity, relevant experience, and education.Exemption Status : United States of America (Non-Exempt)Job Description : Manages a clinical caseload of patients at Elizabeth Rhea Health Services under the authority of an advanced practice nursing license.Provides competent, thorough and appropriate care as indicated, for our patients in a culturally sensitive environment. Performs analysis and interpretation of patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information to develop an appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan. Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests. Prescribes medication when appropriate. Performs therapeutic procedures including but not limited to I&D, suturing, wound care, and / or toenail avulsion when appropriate.Ensures accurate completion of patient charts and lab review in a timely manner on a daily basis.Implements clinical protocols as outlined by the Director of Integrated Counseling & Health Services.Maintains behavior that is compliant with Federal and State regulations, guidelines and requirements including working knowledge of all health information management issues such as HIPAA.Ensures the confidentiality of all patient services and the proper maintenance and disposal of medical records. Serves as the Health Services Privacy Officer.ADDITIONAL DUTIESCooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.Performs other duties as required.EDUCATIONRequired : Master's degree as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner from an accredited institution.Preferred : Doctorate degree as an Adult or Family Nurse PractitionerEXPERIENCERequired : Two years of professional, clinical nursing experience.Preferred : Four years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Internal Medicine, Primary Care or Urgent Care.Management experience in college health or similar setting.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESRequired : Excellent clinical knowledge and judgement.Ability to function independently, strategically plan and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.Demonstrated skill and proficiency in performing health care assessments and developing appropriate treatment plans.Experience with electronic health records.Strong interpersonal and the ability to work and communicate with a diverse population and with other health care professionals.Ability to evaluate situations and solve problems; objective and nonjudgmental.Familiar with proper use and care of medical and office equipment.Accuracy in following verbal and written instructions, taking medical histories, maintaining records, and in the dissemination and application of technical information.Vigilance in following universal precautions and blood-borne pathogen policies.May work under pressure to meet office deadlines and the needs of students.LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONSRequired : Current certification by a nationally recognized credentialing agencyCurrent RN / CNP registered in the State of TexasCurrent CPR / BLS certification.OTHER REQUIREMENTSAll jobs require a current Criminal Background Check (CBC).Available for evening or weekend activities.
