The position for Coordinator of Student Accessibility Resource Center is to enhance the student experience for Accessibility Services. Responsibilities associated with this position include a specific focus on support and retention of students with disabilities and compliance with federal regulations. The Coordinator will ensure that students with disabilities have equal access to all curricular and co-curricular programs and services at Trinity College.
The position for Coordinator of Student Accessibility Resource Center is to enhance the student experience for Accessibility Services. The Coordinator will ensure that students with disabilities have equal access to all curricular and co-curricular programs and services at Trinity College.
- Oversees the testing center and proctors
- Hires staff as note-takers when indicated
- Coordinates accommodated testing, note taking program, alternative academic material formats and texts, assistive technology, etc.
- Maintains accessibility program materials, website, and other technology
- Under the supervision of the coordinator:
- Assesses eligibility for student accommodations
- Provides input to the Coordinator of SARC regarding the budget and assesses the quality and effectiveness of its operations and outcomes.
- Implements reasonable accommodations consistent with current law
- Identifies best practices within the field and maintain confidentiality of records
- Serves as a liaison to the faculty and campus community on issues related to a range of disabilities, classroom and curriculum accommodations, and compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Fair Housing Act
- Advocates on behalf of students with faculty and staff to ensure proper facilitation of academic, program, and housing accommodations Performs other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.
