Job Title: Medical Assistant/Coordinator (Part-time)
The Medical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating medical activities and ensuring healthcare operations are carried out efficiently. They support the medical team by managing patient schedules, assisting with medical documentation, and maintaining a seamless flow of communication between providers, patients, volunteers and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Coordination:
*Schedule appointments for patients with doctors, specialists, or other medical providers.
*Ensure patients receive timely and appropriate follow-up care.
* Address patient inquiries and concerns.
* Facilitate medication refill requests.
Medical Record Management:
* Oversee and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and data protection standards.
* Assist in the preparation and organization of medical documentation for patient visits, treatments, or procedures.
* Ensure medical forms are properly completed and stored.
Medical Team Support:
* Act as a liaison between doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
* Provide administrative support, such as preparing reports, collecting patient data, updating medical charts, and handling correspondence.
* Supply and Equipment Management:
* Ensure medical supplies and equipment are stocked and ready for use, ordering supplies as necessary.
Communication and Reporting:
* Maintain regular communication with patients, medical staff, regarding appointments, and treatment plans.
Experience:
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
* Experience with Practice Fusion (EMR) healthcare management system.
Skills:
*Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare protocols.
* Phlebotomy required.
* Medical Scribing required.
Weekday Hours:
* Every Monday 8:30am – 4:30pm
* Every Wednesday 8:30am – 4:30pm
* The 1st and 3rd Friday of the month 8:30am – 12:00pm
Weekend Hours:
*1st and 3rd Saturday of the month 8:30am – 2:00pm
* 3rd Sunday of the Month 8:30am – 2:00pm
Hourly Rate: $18- $20 per hour based on qualifications and experience
Approximately 20 hours per week. Hours may vary.
