Assembly Lead
Probationary Period: 90 days
Day shift 6am-4:30pm Mon-Fri OT as needed on Sat
Pay is $20 per hour
General Purpose of the Position:
The Assembly Lead is responsible for ensuring that assembled components and products are delivered to the next sequence on time and meet quality standards. The Assembly Lead collaborates with production control to schedule jobs efficiently within the assembly department. This role oversees the assembly team and ensures proper operation of tools and equipment used in the assembly process.
Major Work Functions and Desired Outcomes:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Proficient in using calipers and other measuring tools.
- Experience assembling sheet metal and machined components.
- Knowledge of finish callouts and their applications.
- Understanding of rivet and hardware installation.
- Ability to operate and oversee brake and roll processes.
- Ensure all assembled parts meet quality and design specifications.
- Essential vs. Non-Essential Functions:
- An Assembly Lead must be able to perform the following:
- Utilize basic shop tools and equipment effectively.
- Read and understand blueprints to ensure proper assembly.
- Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of surface finishes and hardware installation.
- Lead the assembly team and manage work schedules to meet deadlines.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
Competencies/Knowledge:
- Assembly practices, including sheet metal and component assembly.
- Rivet installation and proper hardware usage.
- Understanding of surface finishes and quality control standards.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in basic math.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
- Personal Characteristics:
- Team-oriented and dedicated to achieving company goals.
- Willing to work hard to contribute to company growth.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high-quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in assembly and manufacturing.
Technical school training in relevant fields (optional).
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds multiple times throughout the day.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Willing to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in assembling fabricated, machined, and manufactured products made from various alloys is necessary to fulfill the requirements of this position.
