Job Title: Cabinet Maker

Pay: $17-18/hr
Schedule: Mon.-Thur. | 6am-3:30pm
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and versatile Cabinet Maker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional custom cabinetry for both new construction and remodeling projects. You will also play a vital role in general machine maintenance, requiring a "jack of all trades" skill set to ensure smooth operations in the workshop. Additionally, the role offers an opportunity to learn and assist with cabinet building on the side, when needed. Our ideal candidate is passionate about craftsmanship and is committed to delivering high-quality products while maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build custom cabinetry tailored to the unique needs and preferences of clients, from traditional to contemporary styles.
- Work from detailed blueprints or design plans to create functional and aesthetically pleasing cabinets.
- Utilize a variety of tools and machinery to cut, shape, and assemble materials such as wood, laminate, and veneer.
- Ensure all cabinetry meets high standards of quality, precision, and attention to detail.
- Perform general machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of shop equipment.
- Assist with building cabinets as needed, and learn new techniques and processes to further enhance your skills.
- Collaborate closely with the design team to ensure that the custom cabinetry meets both design specifications and customer requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Conduct finishing and installation of cabinets, ensuring all components are properly fitted and functioning.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in the cabinet-making process, including offering suggestions for more efficient practices or enhanced quality.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cabinet Maker or similar role, with a portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, materials, and cabinetry construction.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency with a variety of hand tools and power tools commonly used in cabinetry.
- Ability to perform general maintenance and repairs on shop machinery and tools.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, durable work.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve throughout the production and installation process.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Experience with custom cabinetry designs and understanding of both traditional and modern styles.
- Background in residential construction or remodeling.

High School Diploma
Minimum 1 year previous experience
* Cut, shape, and assemble wooden articles or set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, and mortisers to surface, cut, or shape lumber or to fabricate parts for wood products.
* Verify dimensions or check the quality or fit of pieces to ensure adherence to specifications.
* Produce or assemble components of articles, such as store fixtures, office equipment, cabinets, or high-grade furniture.
* Measure and mark dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock prior to cutting, following blueprints, to ensure a tight fit and quality product.
* Set up or operate machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, or shapers, to cut, mold, or shape woodstock or wood substitutes.
* Establish the specifications of articles to be constructed or repaired, or plan the methods or operations for shaping or assembling parts, based on blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or oral or written instructions.
* Attach parts or subassemblies together to form completed units, using glue, dowels, nails, screws, or clamps.
* Reinforce joints with nails or other fasteners to prepare articles for finishing.
* Install hardware, such as hinges, handles, catches, or drawer pulls, using hand tools.
* Trim, sand, or scrape surfaces or joints to prepare articles for finishing.
* Match materials for color, grain, or texture, giving attention to knots or other features of the wood.
* Cut timber to the right size, and shape and trim parts of joints to ensure a snug fit, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
* Perform final touch-ups with sandpaper or steel wool.
* Bore holes for insertion of screws or dowels, by hand or using boring machines.
* Repair or alter wooden furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, paneling, or other pieces.
* Dip, brush, or spray assembled articles with protective or decorative finishes, such as stain, varnish, paint, or lacquer.
* Estimate the amounts, types, or costs of needed materials.
* Draw up detailed specifications and discuss projects with customers.
* Design furniture, using computer-aided drawing programs.
* Apply Masonite, formica, or vinyl surfacing materials.
* Program computers to operate machinery.
