Full-Time | Monday-Thursday, OT on Friday, as needed | 6:00am-4:30pm
Pay: $20 DOE
Job Overview:
The CNC Machinist performs all machining operations required to produce finished products. Work from blueprints, specifications, job layouts, and written and/or oral instructions for the successful set-up and operation of CNC machines, dimensional inspection, data collection, and paperwork completion under limited supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
· Set-up and operate CNC machines to very close tolerances.
· Use calipers or other measuring instruments in order to perform quality control checks on parts in-process and upon completion.
· Ability to build tooling.
· Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
· Recommend changes to processes or procedures to improve quality and productivity.
· Exercise care and safe work practices - work requires close tolerances and fine finishes. Tasks may include developmental parts, depending upon production, demands and product mix.
· Solve problems and deviations in accordance with previous training; interact with programmers to find solutions to new or unusual problems.
· Perform necessary tasks and paperwork for the proper movement and control of parts.
Work Experience:
• Must be able to communicate both written and orally in the English language.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with CNC set-ups and change outs is required.
• Programming experience required; proficient understanding of G-code and M-code.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be able to run a mill and lathe machine; Haas experience preferred
• Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities
Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand; walk; bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The team member may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

* Set up, operate, or tend drilling machines to drill, bore, ream, mill, or countersink metal or plastic work pieces.
* Verify conformance of machined work to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, or fixed or telescoping gauges.
* Study machining instructions, job orders, or blueprints to determine dimensional or finish specifications, sequences of operations, setups, or tooling requirements.
* Move machine controls to lower tools to workpieces and to engage automatic feeds.
* Verify that workpiece reference lines are parallel to the axis of table rotation, using dial indicators mounted in spindles.
* Establish zero reference points on workpieces, such as at the intersections of two edges or over hole locations.
* Change worn cutting tools, using wrenches.
* Select and set cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools, according to machining instructions or knowledge of metal properties.
* Position and secure workpieces on tables, using bolts, jigs, clamps, shims, or other holding devices.
* Observe drilling or boring machine operations to detect any problems.
* Lift workpieces onto work tables either manually or with hoists or direct crane operators to lift and position workpieces.
* Turn valves and direct flow of coolants or cutting oil over cutting areas.
