Full-Time | Monday-Thursday, OT on Friday, as needed | 5:00pm-3:30am
Pay: $22 DOE
Job Overview:
The CNC Machinist performs all machining operations required to produce finished products. Work from blueprints, specifications, job layouts, and written and/or oral instructions for the successful set-up and operation of CNC machines, dimensional inspection, data collection, and paperwork completion under limited supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
· Set-up and operate CNC machines to very close tolerances.
· Use calipers or other measuring instruments in order to perform quality control checks on parts in-process and upon completion.
· Ability to build tooling.
· Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
· Recommend changes to processes or procedures to improve quality and productivity.
· Exercise care and safe work practices - work requires close tolerances and fine finishes. Tasks may include developmental parts, depending upon production, demands and product mix.
· Solve problems and deviations in accordance with previous training; interact with programmers to find solutions to new or unusual problems.
· Perform necessary tasks and paperwork for the proper movement and control of parts.
Work Experience:
• Must be able to communicate both written and orally in the English language.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with CNC set-ups and change outs is required.
• Programming experience required; proficient understanding of G-code and M-code.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be able to run a mill and lathe machine; Haas experience preferred
• Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities
Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand; walk; bend, squat, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The team member may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

* Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
* Program computers or electronic instruments, such as numerically controlled machine tools.
* Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers.
* Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments, such as micrometers or vernier calipers.
* Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
* Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
* Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
* Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
* Fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tools.
* Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
* Confer with numerical control programmers to check and ensure that new programs or machinery will function properly and that output will meet specifications.
* Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts.
* Separate scrap waste and related materials for reuse, recycling, or disposal.
* Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated or cooled.
* Confer with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
* Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
* Design fixtures, tooling, or experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.
* Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability.
* Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
* Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
