What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grinder/Deburr Helper position at Trinity Employment Specialists?
Grinder Helper
Dayshift will be 5 AM to 3 PM M-F and Saturdays 5AM-10AM on an as needed basis. Pay is $16 an hour
Nightshift will be 3PM-1AM M-F and Saturdays 10AM-3PM on an as needed basis. Pay is $17 an hour
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for prompt and timely completion of all work tasks assigned.*
- Assists burning machine operators as needed to ensure machines remain productively operational, including, but not limited to: pulling material; returning properly tagged material to staging area; loading and unloading of plate and parts on burn table; housekeeping of production and staging area; and any other production needs dictated by burning machine operator.*
- Cleans slag and deburrs all flame cut parts.*
- Tags and stamps all parts as required by customers.*
- Ensures that parts are completely ready for shipment or next operation before moving from grinding area.*
- Notifies Production Manager and Machine Operator immediately if parts are bad, or if questionable quality is encountered.*
- Performs weld repairs on blow-out and gouges when authorized by Production Manager in order to ensure a quality repair and clean up.*
- Ensures grinding equipment is in safe operating condition, and reports any defective equipment or repairs immediately to supervisor.*
- Organizes parts on pallets by customer and in a shippable manner, unless parts are too large or unless instructed otherwise, including proper count and tag information.*
- Responsible for housekeeping in the grinding area and removing scrap material to appropriate containers.*
- Assists in the constant improvement of production efficiency while maintaining schedule demands.*
- Follows appropriate safety procedures.*
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
