Small Parts Paint Prep
Day shift 7am-3:30pm
$17 per hour
Mon-Fri
- Surface Cleaning: Clean small parts to remove oils, grease, dirt, and any other contaminants using solvents, detergents, or other cleaning agents to ensure a smooth painting surface.
- Sanding and Smoothing: Sand and buff parts manually or with small power tools to eliminate rough edges or imperfections, creating an even surface for paint or coating application.
- Masking and Taping: Apply tape, plugs, or masking materials to parts to protect areas that should not be painted, ensuring accuracy and preventing overspray.
- Inspection: Inspect parts before and after prepping to ensure surfaces are properly prepared, identifying any defects that need additional attention before painting.
- Primer Application: Apply primers, if required, to prepare surfaces for final coatings, ensuring proper adhesion and durability.
- Handling and Organizing: Organize and handle small parts carefully to avoid damage or loss during the prep process, ensuring they are ready for painting or coating.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain prep tools such as sanders, masking tools, and spray equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.
Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including wearing protective gear, ensuring proper ventilation, and handling chemicals safely, while adhering to industry and environmental regulations.
This role requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and knowledge of surface preparation techniques to ensure a high-quality paint finish on small parts.

* Hold or position spray guns to direct spray onto articles.
* Monitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and correct their causes.
* Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers or power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths.
* Clean equipment and work areas.
