Job Title: Laser Operator Helper
Pay Rate: $18-$20 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Laser Operator Helper to assist in the setup and operation of Trumpf and Dener laser cutting machines. The ideal candidate will support laser programmers/operators with material handling, machine setup, and general shop duties while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in loading and unloading materials for laser cutting operations.
- Help with machine setup, including retrieving programs, selecting materials, and ensuring proper gas and nozzle usage.
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of machines and work areas.
- Support the programming process by preparing and organizing DXF files.
- Inspect cut parts for quality and accuracy.
- Assist in nesting materials for efficient usage.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of laser cutting processes (experience with Trumpf/Dener lasers is a plus).
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for navigating software.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to different tasks as needed.
