Job Summary:
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) will have the opportunity to provide care to patients in assistance. Primary responsibilities include basic patient care, triage procedures, charting, and medication orders.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provides direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients, under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer.
• Contribute to the assessment of patients and assure the well-being of patients.
• Assists in preoperative, postoperative, and relevant health teaching for patients and family.
• Shares responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
• Participates in team conferences, sharing knowledge, information, and ideas among team members.
• Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Perform laboratory tests and therapeutic services.
• Participates in emergency care.
• Communicates frequently with the team leader regarding patients’ physical and mental conditions.
• Records information concisely, accurately, and completely.
• Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication.
• Constructively participates in Morton’s in-service trainings and staff meetings.
• Complies with Infection Control Policies.
• Complies with HIPAA Policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
• Current LPN licensure for the state of Oklahoma
• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of clinical experience required
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Membership and participation in LPN Association encouraged.
• Ability to work with patients and staff professionally and tactfully
• Ability to work independently as well as with a professional team
• Assumes responsibility for own continued personal and professional growth.
• Appropriate manner, conduct, and grooming.
Working Conditions:
• Work is performed in a clinic environment
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 pounds
• Must be able to sit, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Possess the ability to bend, lift, and climb stairs.
• Work may involve some exposures to operating circumstances that require following standard or prescribed safety precautions.

* Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions.
* Record food and fluid intake and output.
* Assemble and use equipment, such as catheters, tracheotomy tubes, or oxygen suppliers.
* Collect samples, such as blood, urine, or sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
* Prepare or examine food trays for conformance to prescribed diet.
* Help patients with bathing, dressing, maintaining personal hygiene, moving in bed, or standing and walking.
* Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures.
* Apply compresses, ice bags, or hot water bottles.
* Provide medical treatment or personal care to patients in private home settings, such as cooking, keeping rooms orderly, seeing that patients are comfortable and in good spirits, or instructing family members in simple nursing tasks.
* Sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclave.
* Make appointments, keep records, or perform other clerical duties in doctors' offices or clinics.
* Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms.
* Wash and dress bodies of deceased persons.
* Clean rooms and make beds.
* Inventory and requisition supplies and instruments.
* Assist in delivery, care, or feeding of infants.
Salary : $21 - $28
