Job Title: Medical Payment Poster
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Payment Poster to join our team. This role is vital to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payment processing operations. The Medical Payment Poster will be responsible for handling a large volume of insurance and patient payments, reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for accuracy, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and supporting the business office as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post and reconcile high volumes of insurance and patient payments accurately and efficiently, including manual and electronic remits.
- Analyze and review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to ensure correct payments and adjustments.
- Identify and document denials, underpayments, and discrepancies; resolve issues or route them to appropriate personnel for further investigation.
- Collaborate with staff to address account-related questions and communicate effectively with patients regarding their accounts.
- Assist with answering phones within the business office and provide exceptional customer service.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance payment processes, denial codes, and account reconciliation best practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, confidentiality regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in medical billing or healthcare administration preferred.
- Previous experience in medical payment posting, insurance reconciliation, or a related role is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of EOBs, denial codes, and healthcare billing processes.
- Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic remittance systems.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, staff, and insurance representatives.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
