Radiologic Technologist | Tulsa, OK| Temp to Hire | $23-$28 per hour based on experience
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Job Summary: Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films as directed by physicians and performs routine diagnostic procedures.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays following established procedures.
Enters x-rays in computer.
Instructs patients regarding procedures.
Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual basis.
Examines radiologic image for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
Authorizes release of patients upon completion of radiologic examination.
Maintains x-ray rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiologic equipment.
Aids physician with various procedures as needed.
Delivers digital discs for surgery to physician.
Participates in training employees, residents, and student technologists in equipment operation, patient movement, and quality assurance.
Enhances professional growth through education programs, conferences, and workshops.
Maintains educational requirements for ARRT renewal.
Attends meetings as required.
Maintains strictest confidentiality.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience:
Minimum of one year of experience as a radiology technologist preferred, will consider new graduates.
Licensure / Certification: Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist required.

* Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
* Position patient on examining table and set up and adjust equipment to obtain optimum view of specific body area as requested by physician.
* Monitor patients' conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physician.
* Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
* Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
* Review and evaluate developed x-rays, video tape, or computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
* Determine patients' x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians.
* Prepare contrast material, radiopharmaceuticals, or anesthetic or antispasmodic drugs under the direction of a radiologist.
* Provide assistance to physicians or other technologists in the performance of more complex procedures.
* Record, process, and maintain patient data or treatment records and prepare reports.
* Take thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
