Job Description
Trinity Church Princeton is seeking a Director of Communications as a part-time employee (20 hours per week). The job will entail working with the clergy and staff developing communications for our seven hundred parishioners as well as reaching out to the greater Princeton community. This position will be vital in helping Trinity with two goals: increasing engagement with current parishioners and attracting new members to the church.
This is a collaborative role with flexibility to do some work from home so long as you are in the office at least two days each week. In addition, it is important to attend the church on most Sunday mornings in order to direct the live streaming of our 10:30 am service and to become familiar with the culture of the parish.

Responsibilities
· Communicate in a caring, engaging style that matches the culture of the clergy and parish. Ensure clear, timely communications to the parish.
· Maintain the parish website in an attractive and dynamic format. Analyze web traffic to ensure the content is useful and to increase monthly visitors to the site. Keep the Events calendar current and provide plenty of advance notice of upcoming events.
· Create a high-quality weekly email newsletter that is currently sent to over 1,300 people every Friday. Include timely articles in support of parish events and initiatives.
· Publicize the church’s activities and accomplishments to the community via social media and local press.
· Manage the live-streaming of our Sunday morning service (10:30 am) and its associated audio-visual equipment.
· Develop communications for bulletin boards, signage, etc. to communicate with the parish and the public in support of key programs and initiatives.
· Lead special projects such as implementing an online parish directory
· Be an active participant in weekly staff meetings to identify communication opportunities and in monthly Communications committee meetings with parishioners.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in English/Humanities, Communications, or Marketing
· Graphic arts expertise and an eye for attractive design.
· Experienced in the use of marketing and design software. We currently use Squarespace for our website and email newsletter.
· Excellent writer whose communications are crisp, clear, and easy to read.
· Team player who works well with a wide range of personalities.
· Responsive in a timely fashion to all constituents. Able to balance competing priorities.
· Familiarity with live-streaming technology is a plus but not required.
