Substitute Teacher
Trinity Episcopal School is currently seeking Substitute Teachers. The ideal candidate must share a love for children, take initiative while being flexible, and commit to our three primary values of scholarship, diversity and spirituality.
Qualifications
Assignments are available in grades K-8 and can include self-contained classroom placements as well as enrichment classes such as music, faith studies, art, foreign languages, and physical education. Substitute teachers may be called with several days’ notice of a planned TES teacher absence, the evening prior to or the morning of a TES teacher’s unexpected absence.
Substitute teachers will receive lesson plans to guide their work in the classroom, and they will be supported by other members of the grade-level or department team. An ability to effectively teach and manage a group of twenty (20 ) children independently is necessary. Substitute teachers should also have previous experience working with children in a daycare, camp or classroom setting. An undergraduate degree is preferred, and education majors or graduates are encouraged to apply.
